Barn Café
Ever since the Friends first got together we have seen the need and potential for a café at the farm and this long held dream has finally become a reality. The convertion of the barn into the Barn Café has taken many months of hard work by the Friends volunteers, not to mention a few pounds of hard currency too, but we are finally there and Grimsbury Farm's Barn Café is finally open for business. This is a very important event for the farm as it not only means that our visitors have somewhere to enjoy good quality refreshments (at a bargain price, we might add!) but it will be a huge oportunity for the Friends to raise much needed funds to plough back into the farm, as all the profits from the café will be used for projects at the farm. So if you want to help the farm go from strength to strength then all you have to do is sit about drinking coffee; it's never been easier!
If you fancy something more substantial than a hot drink then how abot a hot meal? That's right, the Barn Café is now serving hot meals to go with your hot drink. We hope to expand on this menu in the future and offer a range of specials from time to time, but this in itself is an imortant step for us. Click here for the current menu.
Running the café is a joint venture between the Friends group and the Brandon Trust, a Bristol based UK charity. After a successful summer we are continuing to open through the winter. Our revised winter opening hours are*:
-
Mon/Tue/Thurs 10:00am - 4:00pm (Brandon Trust)
-
Wed - Closed
-
Fri 11:00am - 4:00pm (Friends of Grimsbury Farm)
-
Sat/Sun 12:00pm - 4:00pm (Friends of Grimsbury Farm)
|
So, next time you're at the farm, why not show your support and call in for a cooling ice cream or a warming coffee, depending on the weather!
*Café currenly closed until further notice due to vandals. Please see What's on for more info
